The crab's
thought (March 2001 - approximate and reduced translation from Italian) What the crab thinks in his hole-garden. |
Recently somebody, with a unsolicited newsletter, told
me that INPS is going bankrupt. Thanks for this information. I'll ask this
institution, which the remaining of my life is depending on, to tell me if
I have to emigrate, to commit suicide or to look for a new way to survive.
The message writer does a speach we knew already ten years ago: the INPS
didn't invest the old contributions, so now it has to pay the old pensions
with the money it is taking from the new workers. Well. The problem is more
increased because new regular workers are more and more rare. You must find
a good solution in order to avoid to starve the present and future pensioners.
But you must not deceive that it's enough a young worker pay to assure
only his future old age. The public or private society institutions
must support all weak people, in any way. This is the meaning of a good right
civilization. Otherwise there is only the jungle or the savanna we saw in
the wonderful National Geographic's films, where you can see the lion's paw
sending away vultures and hyenas far from their prey: so, in the far east,
the policemen are sending away the dismissed workers from their factories.
We already saw similar shows in Europe.
